The Academy and its Founding

with the aim of preserving an accurate recounting of world history and cultural diversity and to propagate the ideals of Cyrus the Great and other visionary noblemen who dedicated their lives to the betterment of humanity.

The Academy has since expanded internationally with representation in Los Angeles, Paris, London, Melbourne, Stockholm, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Jerusalem And it is expanding continuously.

The Situation

The Academy is comprised of international fellows from every ilk, including scholars, authors, historians, artists, educators, researchers and the like.

While our respect for free thought and diversity always promotes new direction, fellows of the academy ascribe to the following common beliefs:

  • Lack of access to basic education, specifically inclusive of education in understanding history and culture have promoted a condition of ignorance that has fostered conflict and given rise to abuse of power by those who seek to take advantage of human vulnerabilities.
  • This crisis is concentrated in less developed nations, including many regions in the Middle East and Africa.
  • Poverty and scarcity of resources, combined with geo-political and religious realities in these regions have created a dynamic where the greater populace- Specifically the youth are deprived of basic educational resources and opportunities for advancement and growth.
  • Even in “wealthy” developing nations, there is a crisis in education as the expansion of the population is not matched by increasing numbers of world class universities and other educational institutions. The number of youths who cannot obtain affordable access to comprehensive education is increasing day by day. Of course, the case in under developed or “Third World” countries is much worse.

Our Mission

To preserve humanity’s cultural and historical contributions and provide a better future for the forthcoming generations through the establishment of educational centers.

These “Education Centers” will not function in the same manner as traditional centers of higher education or universities which are better able to focus on traditional subject matters.

Rather, our Education Centers will focus on in-depth and innovative teaching by a dedicated group of scholars, with a primary focus on a deeper understanding of world’s cultures and the underpinnings for basic human rights.

Our goal is to utilize all forms of accessible media, in many languages, and develop a free platform that has global reach and universal availability. In addition to our expanding roster of fellows, we will continue outreach efforts to gain benefit from experts and scholars all over the globe.

Our mission is to promote culture and education whenever and wherever we can. Cyrus The Great International Open Academy is dedicated to the principles of individual liberty, peace through strength, limited governments, free education, and the values embodied in the Declaration of Human Rights. We believe that culture and education is worth preserving, defending and renewing. Our goal is to build a robust culture of freedom, opportunity, and prosperity through effective education, analysis and advocacy. In far too many cases, the drive to increase the size and scope of government and to minimize individual knowledge and responsibility has resulted in negative economic and social outcomes.
